The official program for the festival’s new cinema venue at the Chapel of the Convento do Beato was unveiled this Wednesday.
Tribeca Lisboa presented, this Wednesday, the official line-up of yet another screening room. This time, we got to know what will be shown at the brand-new “The Chapel by Betclic”, which will take over the Chapel of the Convento do Beato from October 30th to November 1st.
The natural highlights include the premiere of the series “Sandokan: The Pirate Prince”, starring Ed Westwick (known to many from “Gossip Girl”), as well as “Feel the Magic: Ticha Penicheiro – Against All Odds”, a documentary about the Portuguese basketball player who is in the Women’s NBA Hall of Fame and was named one of the 20 greatest players ever in the American league.
The latter will close the first day’s program, which opens with “In The Hand of Dante” and continues with Yorgos Lanthimos’s “Bugonia”. On the following day, besides Sandokan, audiences will also be able to see “Dreams” by Michel Franco, starring Jessica Chastain and a contender for the Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival.
On the final day, the room will feature “The Best You Can” and “Além do Horizonte – A Travessia”.
This second edition, says Cara Cusumano, director of the Tribeca Festival in New York, will be marked by “bold premieres” drawn from the “international festival circuit,” with a “focus on collaborations between the U.S. and Europe,” reflecting the very nature of the festival itself as “a creative partnership between Lisbon and New York.”
Tribeca Festival Lisboa had recently revealed other premieres set for this edition, including “Ritas”, “Charliebird”, “Are We Good?“, “Terra Vil”, “Lua Vermelha: Nova Geração”, and “Honeyjoon.” In addition, the presence of Kim Cattrall, Meg Ryan, and Giancarlo Esposito has already been confirmed.
